Fortune Sound Club occupies a three-story 1921 building in Vancouver's Chinatown, on E. Pender at Main. It's a mid-sized room (capacity 400) with one of the city's most respected sound systems — the only Funktion One in Vancouver — which draws a crowd that actually cares about audio. The vibe skews toward serious dance music fans: techno, house, drum and bass, dubstep, and hip-hop, depending on the night. It's not bottle-service territory; this is a floor-focused room with a secondary listening lounge called Livestock.
