Soundcheck was a 4,400 sq ft basement club at 1420 K St NW in downtown DC — the underground sibling of superclub Echostage. The room was built around its sound system: a D&B Audiotechnik Y-series rig pushing up to 80,000 watts, with cork flooring and thick acoustic panels to contain it. Capacity capped around 500, which kept it intimate for a club that regularly drew touring international talent. It closed in January 2026 after a decade in operation.
