Flash is a three-level electronic music club in the Shaw/LeDroit Park corridor at 645 Florida Ave NW, opened in 2013 by former DJs and music industry people who wanted a proper listening environment. The main floor has studio-quality acoustics and a Funktion-One sound system, the basement has its own dance floor and cocktail bar, and the rooftop (Green Room) has a third DJ booth with a retractable ceiling and bi-fold doors. The focus is firmly on house, techno, and deep/disco sounds — this is not a bottle-service spot.
Expect a crowd that skews toward genuine house and techno fans rather than a nightclub-as-nightlife crowd. The door can run a deliberate line even when the inside isn't packed. Fridays and Saturdays are the consistent programming nights; the Funktion-One rig is the main draw and it shows in how the room sounds. Not a dressy scene — come to dance.
