Bunker is DC's only dedicated LGBTQ+ nightclub, occupying the corner of 14th and U streets NW in a former Tropicalia space. The fallout-shelter aesthetic is committed: concrete walls tagged with radioactive warnings, a giant countdown clock looming over the DJ booth, gas masks and medicine bottles displayed near gender-neutral bathrooms. It reads underground and deliberately rough-edged rather than polished.
Thursday through Sunday nights, with doors at 10pm (Sunday 9pm) and closing between 1:30–3:30am depending on the night. The crowd skews LGBTQ+ and the programming is genuinely varied — expect house and electronic DJs most nights, but drag and live performance nights mix it up. No-cover happy hours have been part of the model. Sits in one of DC's busiest nightlife intersections, so it's easy to get to and well-trafficked.
