Side Bar is a 4,000 sq ft boutique nightclub in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter at 536 Market St, open since 2003. The space splits into two sides — a lounge with plush seating and craft cocktails, and a club floor with an elevated DJ booth. The decor runs toward metallic finishes, warm coppers, and avant-garde floral patterns, landing somewhere between New York intimate and Gaslamp flashy. Crowd skews upscale and dressed up, with a strict dress code (no jerseys, sportswear, sandals, or hats).
Open Wednesday through Sunday, 9pm–2am, with the weekends and Wednesdays being the main nights. General admission runs $20, VIP skip-the-line is $30. The room is small enough that it fills fast — bottle service secures you a booth if you want a seat. DJs rotate weekly rather than a fixed residency schedule, so checking the monthly lineup on their site before going is worth doing.
