Circus After Hours sat at 917 Rue Sainte-Catherine Est in Montreal's Gay Village, running two rooms on a Funktion-One sound system and opening its doors at 2am when most clubs were closing. The format was true after-hours: house, techno, trance, and hip-hop/dancehall depending on the room, with live performers — fire-breathers, acrobats in leotards, burlesque dancers — woven into the night rather than bolted on as a gimmick.
