Brisbane clubbing has one true home and it is Fortitude Valley. The grid of Ann, Brunswick and Wickham Streets holds nearly every club that matters, stacked so close you can walk the whole strip in ten minutes. The CBD has its riverside bars and after-work spots, but when Brisbane actually wants a dancefloor it gets on a train to the Valley, and the precinct is built for it, with a dedicated station a few minutes from most doors.
The 2025 and 2026 scene is in a genuine rebuild phase. Birdees came back in mid 2025 after a seven million dollar rebuild with a tiki rooftop and a 12 metre pool. House of Vice opened in September 2025 pushing a Studio 54 disco angle. Wonderland turned the old Woolly Mammoth site into a hip hop superclub. Meanwhile The Beat Megaclub has been running since 1983 and still opens five nights a week, which makes it Australia's longest running nightclub. Between the megaclubs, a country dance bar, a Latin social club and a basement RnB room, the range is wider than the postcode suggests.
Know the rules before you go. Everything is strictly 18 plus, and the Valley is a designated Safe Night Precinct, which means venues trading past midnight scan your ID into a networked system after 10pm. Bring a physical licence or passport and expect the queue to move slower after ten. Last drinks in the precinct is 3am, so the smart move is dinner first, doors by nine or ten, and no dawdling between venues at 2am.

Yes. Fortitude Valley is a designated Safe Night Precinct, and venues licensed to trade past midnight must run networked ID scanners on everyone entering after 10pm. The scanner records your name, date of birth and photo and checks it against a banning database. Bring a physical driver licence or passport and expect door queues to slow down after ten.
Last drinks in Safe Night Precincts like the Valley is 3am, and most clubs run their floors right up to it. Queensland scrapped its planned lockout years ago in favour of the ID scanner system, so you can still move between venues late, you just cannot buy a drink after 3am.
